Girard Medical Center has an Outreach Program as part of our dedication to the communities of Southeast Kansas. In our continued efforts to be proactive in the community and to promote healthy lifestyles the following services are offered:
- Transportation through partnership with SEK-CAP. Call 620.724.0136 for transportation services Monday through Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm.
- Teddy Bear Clinics in conjunction with PSU Nursing Students. These clinics provide elementary students with safety, health and hygiene tips.
- Dine-O-Might Program which is an annual health screening and exercise program developed for elementary students. Nutritional education concerning healthy choices is presented by our hospital dietitian. A drawing for a bicycle is conducted at the conclusion of the program for the participants.
- CPR Instruction is available to the freshman class of Arma, Girard, and Frontenac. A basic course of life saving techniques is presented to the students. Instruction is also available to the public and area businesses.
