Girard Medical Center Foundation Receives Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas Grant to Expand Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
The Girard Medical Center Foundation is proud to announce it has received a Basic Human Needs grant through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas to support its project, Pressure Check: Expanding Access to Home Blood Pressure Monitoring.
Thanks to this grant, the foundation was able to provide free blood pressure cuffs to patients through the Girard Medical Center Rural Health Clinics. These monitors will help patients track their blood pressure at home and take a more active role in managing their health.
Regular blood pressure monitoring is an important part of preventing and managing chronic conditions such as heart disease and stroke. By increasing access to home monitoring tools, this project improves communication between patients and healthcare providers and supports healthier outcomes across our rural communities.
“We are grateful to the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas for supporting this important initiative,” said Tanya Brokob, APRN. “Providing patients with the tools they need to monitor their blood pressure at home can make a meaningful difference in their long-term health and wellness.”
The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas hosts individual charitable funds established by donors passionate about giving back to their communities. Grants from these funds assist people throughout Southeast Kansas and beyond.
