D. Dean Papp M.D.
Dr. S Dean Papp is a general diagnostic radiologist at Girard Medical Center in Girard. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia and grew up in Joplin, Missouri. Dr. Papp attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a BS degree in chemistry. He graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School, Kansas City with an MD in 1972. Dr. Papp did his residency at Brooke Army Medical Center-Fort Sam Houston, Texas and became board certified in diagnostic radiology in 1976. Since that time he has practiced at Reynolds Army Hospital in Fort Sill, OK; Wichita General Hospital in Wichita Falls, TX; and Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Pittsburg. In 2002, Dr. Papp began covering Girard Medical Center.
Dr. Papp is fully qualified in almost all subspecialties in diagnostic radiology including nuclear medicine procedures consisting of PET scanning and coincidence imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, interventional radiology and ultrasound, as well as CT imaging.
He has 3 children – His son Travis is married and is a graphic artist. His daughter Anne resides with her husband and two young sons, Caleb and Matthew. Katie, his youngest daughter, attends Pittsburg State University.
Dr. Papp enjoys playing on a slow-pitch softball team in Pittsburg and also occasionally plays golf and tennis. He looks forward to a long affiliation of providing diagnostic radiology services for Girard Medical Center.
