Free "Stop the Bleed" Class!
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThere will be a B-Con Basics "Stop the Bleed" class offered in the GMC classroom on Monday, April 9th from 6:00 until 7:30 pm. This class focuses on what to do in case of life-threatening bleeding and has the potential to save many lives.
Thanks to Patti Boore, Girard Medical Center has partnered with area health care personnel from Via Christi, Crawford County EMS, and Pittsburg Fire Dept. to educate our community on basic life-saving medical interventions, including bleeding control with a tourniquet, bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents.
This training is for NON tactical law enforcement officers, firefighters, security personnel, teachers, nannies and other civilians requiring this... basic training.
Hopefully you will never have to apply these techniques, but it's good to know basic training in bleeding control principles so you are able to provide immediate, frontline aid until first responders arrive.
