Brain Health Day 2025
Brain Health Day 2025: Free Cognitive Screenings at Fort Scott GMC Clinic
Girard Medical Center is excited to announce an important community event—Brain Health Day 2025! This year, we are proud to partner with the KU Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at the University of Kansas Medical Center to offer FREE Cognitive Screenings at our Fort Scott Clinic on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Understanding Brain Health
Our brain is the control center of our body, managing everything from our thoughts and emotions to our ability to remember and make decisions. As we age, maintaining brain health becomes even more critical. Cognitive health can significantly impact how we live, affecting our independence, relationships, and overall quality of life.
Brain health involves more than just avoiding neurological diseases—it’s about keeping your mind active, alert, and functioning at its best. As we age, we all experience some level of cognitive decline. However, there are steps we can take to stay on top of our brain health and ensure that any concerns are caught early.
The Importance of Cognitive Screenings
Cognitive screenings are among the most effective ways to assess brain health. They help identify early signs of cognitive decline or neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other memory disorders. Early detection is key to managing these conditions effectively and seeking appropriate treatment.
Cognitive screenings are quick, noninvasive, and can provide valuable insight into your mental health. During Brain Health Day, our team will guide you through the screening process, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed. Whether you notice memory lapses or want peace of mind about your brain health, this screening is a significant first step.
How to Participate
Call the Fort Scott Clinic at 620.224.2627 to schedule your appointment to take advantage of this free, community-focused event. Appointments are available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on June 11th, 2025, and we encourage you to reserve your spot early, as availability may fill up quickly.
This event is open to individuals of all ages, but it’s essential for those in the later stages of life who may be more susceptible to cognitive decline.
