Girard Medical Center is excited to invite our community to help shape the future look of our hospital! As part of our 2026 campaigns, Rooted in Rural. Focused on You and Our Roots. Our People., we’re launching a Community Photography Contest — and we want your view of Girard.

From historic landmarks to rural landscapes and familiar community favorites, we’re looking for photography that captures the heart, history, and beauty of Girard.

Selected winning photos will be:

• Professionally printed and displayed throughout the hospital
• Credited with full photographer information
• Featured on Girard Medical Center’s social media and website

Show us, Girard, through your lens. Show us our roots.

CONTEST GUIDELINES

Theme: Photography must feature Girard, Kansas or nearby community areas.
Examples include:

• Historic buildings
• Iconic landmarks
• Rural scenes
• Agriculture
• Small-town life
• Seasonal or cultural moments unique to Girard

Who Can Enter: Open to all community members — students, hobbyists, and professional photographers.

Entry Limit: There is no limit to the number of photos participants may submit.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Photo(s) must be taken by the entrant
• High-resolution images (300 dpi preferred)
• Each submission must include the exact location of where the photo was taken
• Photos may be color or black & white
• Recognizable individuals must have permission
• By submitting, participants grant GMC permission to print and publicly display images

Judging Criteria:

• Connection to theme
• Creativity & composition
• Emotional impact
• Artistic quality
• Storytelling of Girard’s rural heritage

Judged by GMC staff.

1. Photographer’s Name
2. Phone Number & Email
3. Photo Title (optional)
4. Exact Location of Photo
5. Short Description (optional)
6. Image in a PNG or JPEG. (High-resolution images 300 dpi preferred)

Deadline:

🗓 February 6^th, 2026

Winning photographers will have their work:

• Displayed in the hospital
• Credited with their name
• Featured on GMC social media & GMC website
