A Night of Laughter, Leaps, and Liberty!
Girard Medical Center was proud to once again sponsor one of the most fun and festive traditions of the summer—the Potato Sack Races at the Liberty & Lights Independence Day Celebration hosted by Girard Events at the Crawford County Fairgrounds on July 1st!
This marked our second year sponsoring and running the kids' games, and it was an absolute blast! We loved seeing the excitement, determination, and joy on every child’s face as they hopped their way to the finish line. The community truly showed up for a night of family fun, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of it.
We hosted races for all age groups, including:
-
0–4 years
-
5–6 years
-
7–8 years
-
9–10 years
-
11–12 years
-
13 and up
Each age group brought their own flair and energy, with plenty of cheering from family and friends on the sidelines. Whether it was a toddler tumble or a teen's triumphant leap, every race was full of laughter, high spirits, and healthy competition.
Congratulations to all our winners! But truly, every participant was a star. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the night so special. Events like these are a shining example of what makes our community so wonderful—coming together to celebrate, support, and share in joyful moments.
A huge thank-you goes out to the Girard Events Committee for organizing another successful Liberty & Lights celebration. Your hard work and dedication brought together neighbors, friends, and families for an unforgettable night.
We can’t wait to continue this tradition for years to come. Until next time—keep hopping, Girard!
